Trivia!

Hey Guys,
I'm sorry for not blogging, I tried to, but my computer won't let me. I just managed roughly now. Like I said, my computer has been acting sooo strangely! I'm trying to mend it. I hope it will be mended soon.

Anyway, I prepared a trivia on the subject : Nature
I bet you guys didn't know any of these things!

  • The Earth's plates move between  2-20 cm (0.75-7.75 in) per year- the rate which fingernails grow
  • From the ground, the Earth's surface may look bumpy, but if the Earth was reduced to a 1 m ball, Mt. Everest would look like a pimple no more than 0.69 mm high!
  • The Earth is not the only object which has earthquakes, the moon does too! These are called "Moonquakes".
  • The Caspian Sea was once a sea. (It is a lake now) It was cut off from the Mediterranean sea during the last Ice Age.
  • More people drown in deserts than die of thirst! When rain suddenly falls, dry river-beds can turn into gushing rivers in just a few minutes.
  • You can predict rain with a piece of seaweed- Hang it outside. If it feels sticky, rain is on the way.
  • The squirting cucumber spreads seeds by exploding under high pressure, showering seeds.
  • The most valuable fungus is the White Truffle. It is 5 times more expensive than silver!
  • The name volcano comes from "Vulcan", the Roman god of fire and metalwork.
  • Around 30 per cent of the Earth's land surface is forested.

Wasn't that a whizz? Just remember this: The more we know, the more we grow! Be sure to comment about your likes, hates, tips, tricks, ratings, bloopers and anything else. If I get enough positive responses, I'll continue trivias like this quite often on other subjects.
